thank you for this chaos.

Who was I kidding when I knew what “hard” was? I knew that being an employee was easy no matter how much things I complain about. There was also this anticipated chaos that I saw from whatever vision I have for the future. There was no clear goal of what type of chaotic future it would be, it’s just that I knew that my vision grows big regardless of what plans I have for coffee, or the world I aim to serve.

So that’s that about the chaos. Now we move over to what I am thankful for.

Good lord am I grateful for the people I encounter everyday. Thank you for allowing me to serve an unknown teritory from 5 years ago. How I magically end up in Hawaii and find a community who mentored me, fed me, clothed me, help me survive, put a shelter over my head, give me clearer answers on how to shape my dream, enable my brand to serve those I aim to have an impact on, have a team that has faith in my vision, have kind guests.

Good lord, how can I not be thankful for the opportunity this world is giving me, when I knew that things like these would be handled easily back home. I wanted to be the person who can handle a broken ice machine, a team member calling out, and even a guest questioning if I “hold classes for my staff” because of her overly bitter Mocha.

How on earth can I not be thankful for a business that wasn’t even part of my plan, yet went beyond paying my rent, to paying my car, to paying the capital to fund my dream, Pour Over the Rainbow. Thankful that even when this business has put me down in the past, as I’ve had countless of insults or challenges with clients, it’s also the same business that helped me find a sustainable path for Pour Over the Rainbow.

Thankful that despite this chaos, I am still able to manage to find a way to not burn out. Thankful that through this chaos, I still am able to find a way to keep my love for coffee or to re ignite my passion and purpose for it. Thankful that through the slow and steady growth, I find where we can do better, before it becomes even more chaotic as we grow bigger.

Thankful that I am solving this chaotic part of life, rather than changing diapers.

The chaos that I have aimed for is slowly coming to life, and I will only pray for strength. Damn world, thank you. Thank you so much for this chaos.
